Offshore Wind Engineering

"Offshore wind farm (OWF) is one of HHI's core businesses. HHI started OWF business from 2009. With years of unremitting efforts,the OWF business has grown fast and HHI has in parallel made great progress in R&D, engineering, manufacturing and construction for the OWF. HHI’s capabilities in terms of engineering and construction have also been widely recognized in the industry. 
The business scope of HHI's OWF includes OWF design, the manufacturing of OWF steel pipe pile foundation, jackets, tower and auxiliary structure. Construction of offshore wind turbine foundations, installation of offshore wind turbines and towers, manufacture and installation of offshore substations, submarine cable laying, foundation anti-scouring protecting and O&M for offshore wind farms.
HHI is in possession of a professional vessel fleet for OWF constructions, namely HUADIAN 1001, HUADIAN ZHONG JI 01, HUADIAN BQ 01/02,ZHEN JIANG, BO QIANG 58, HAI YANG 59, LI TONG 01, GUO NENG BO QIANG 01, HUADIAN WEN QIANG and other vessels.Some internationally procured hydro-hammer vessels, such as “MENCK MHU-1900s” from Germany and “IHC S-3600”from Holland, are also part of the fleet members.
By the end of 2021, HHI has successfully completed 26 offshore wind farm projects with a total capacity of 3.5GW, completed construction of 450+ monopoles, installation of 550+ wind turbines and 7 offshore substations. The completed OWFs are  distributed along China coast line from the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea in North, to the East Sea, South China Sea in South, covering 5 coastal provinces of China. In addition, CPI Binhai North H1#100MW OWF Project was awarded “China Electric Power High Quality Project in 2017"" as well as “Gold Prize in China National High Quality Project in 2016 and 2017”. It was the first Gold Prize in Chinese wind power industry (onshore and offshore) at the time.
HHI adheres to taking the scientific and technological innovation as the leading role, vigorously promotes management innovation, technological innovation and product innovation. At present, HHI has undertaken 38 scientific and technological projects, 18 scientific and technological projects are under research; There also has 105 offshore wind power related patents (invention and utility model), 2 software copyrights, 2 ""power construction method"", 3 second prizes of power construction QC achievement awards, and 9 science and technology progress awards of power construction (1 first prize, 3 second prizes and 5 third prizes). HHI self-developed “The Research and Application of Key Technologies of Offshore Super Diameter Monopile Foundation Construction” won the first prize of 2019 China Electric Power Science and Technology Award. The achievement of ""Complete Set of Technology for New Cylindrical Foundation and Efficient Installation of Offshore Wind Power"" won the Special Prize of Tianjin Scientific and Technological Invention in 2020; The achievement of ""Whole-process Management Innovation and Practice of Offshore Wind Power Construction"" won the Power Innovation Award of 2021. The Tianjin Offshore Wind Power Structure and Construction Equipment Technology Engineering Center has been jointly established with Tianjin University, HHI are actively planning to found a National Offshore Wind Power Research and Development Center to further accelerate the efficient transformation of scientific and technological achievements and make greater contribution to the high quality development of offshore wind power business of the company as well.

During China's ""the 14th five year plan"" period, HHI will be guided by the multi-directional technology researches to develop the far-reaching basic types of offshore wind turbines, comprehensive energy utilization of offshore wind power, long-distance transmission and marine ranching, and taking the adaptation of large-scale units and continuous development as the main line, HHI will build a joint development mode guided by the ""cost of offshore wind power"", and jointly launch diversified integrated solutions for offshore wind power business.
According to the overall development strategy of ""three wheel drive"", HHI will continue to carry out the ""Trinity"" business of OWF equipment manufacturing, EPC, wind farm investment, operation and maintenance, to achieve the goal of ""3060"" carbon neutralization, make own contribution on the sustainable and healthy development of OWF business in China, and continue to build a colorful chapter of clear water and blue sky as well."
